Film schools only seem to be good for meeting people with the same interests as you. Other than that, the experience gained seems to be pretty linear.

i want to go to film school, but i can also go to university and study 'film and television science' but that wont teach you anything about making films. film school does. do you guys have any advice on this?

hey, I got through to the second interview, but blew it cos my family started. so I missed an ?8K/year training retainer for a ?40ph 'real' job in IT. until the economy crashed and now i'm salaried off pretty averagely.

seriously though, FINISH THE DARN COURSE or you'll have to put up with bitter old hacks like me whinging 'told ya so'

Yeah. You guys are right.

This is something I need to do. For a long time I've wondered why the Irish film industry is in such a state...and now I think it might be that the people running it don't have a clue how to relate to young talent coming up.

Basically I'm here to make good films. I don't feel I'm getting all the support I need, (like any at all at times) and I let them know about it. Warning: That's an "independent thought alert."

Of course they don't like it when you complain cos that just seems like I'm being a "difficult artist." Pah.

Bad organisation is bad organisation. My films been sitting in their vaults for 6 months and only now are they going to transfer my sound from nagra to digital.
